NEWS

Sector Hampton Roads Safety Day
Flotilla 84 is an active unit in the 5th District, Southern Region. Our members work with boaters on Lake Anna, Smith Mountain Lake, areas of the southern Chesapeake Bay, and Washington, D.C.  We provide direct operational assistance to U.S. Coast Guard Stations Washington D.C. and Milford Haven (Matthews, VA). We conduct safety patrols, perform free vessel safety checks, and teach boating safety classes.

Our Flotilla was chartered in 1974, and currently has 30 members that serve at all levels of our organization from the flotilla level to the national staff.

Our strengths have been educating boaters in boating safety and navigation, performing safety patrols on navigable and state waterways, and providing direct operational support to local U.S. Coast Guard units.

Our Flotilla meets the second Monday of every month at the National Radio Astronomy Observatory on the grounds of The University of Virginia from 7:30PM to 9:30PM.  For meeting information, please contact any one of our officers listed on the "Contact Us" page of this website!  We welcome anyone that is interested in learning more about the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary!
