Telecommunications Personal Qualification Standard
(TCPQS) Program & Reference Manuals:

with a brief description of what the new program entails and who it covers.
Members that were previously watch stander qualified
for Auxiliary units are grandfathered indefinitely for this program.
Coast Guard Station watch standers must still comply with the individual
station's requirements.

Documentation Requirements This memo from the NC Area QE
(Qualifications Examiner) Coordinator describes district policy in reference
to what documents need to be provided by a candidate for either initial or
3rd year qualifications. Please carefully read this memo and make sure
that you have these documents ready for a QE at the time of a dockside
and/or underway check ride.

Auxiliary
Boat Crew Training Manual (M16794.51A) is the guide that describes the
program that all members follow for qualification, maintenance, and
requalification of their boat crew level.

Auxiliary Boat Crew Qualification Guide, Vol 1 Crew Member (M16794.52A) is
the task and proficiency guide and sign-off used during training by mentors and
qualifications examiners (QEs) for initial qualification as a crew member.

Auxiliary Boat Crew Qualification Guide, Vol 2 Coxswain (M16794.53A) is the
task and proficiency guide and sign-off used during training by mentors and
qualifications examiners (QEs) for initial qualification as a vessel coxswain.

Auxiliary Boat Crew Qualification Guide, VOL 3 PWC Operator (M16794.54A) is
the task and proficiency guide and sign-off used during training by mentors and
qualifications examiners (QEs) for initial qualification as a PWC Operator.

Coast Guard Boat Crew Seamanship Manual (M16114.5C) is the reference guide
that is used to describe and direct the proper procedures called for in
qualification tasks and requirements. This manual is referenced repeated
in the Auxiliary BCQ Guides Volumes 1-3. WARNING... this file is 29
megabytes in size and will take a long time to download!

Navigation Rules Latest Edition (M16672.2D) is the manual used to study for
the Navigation Rules exam required of all coxswain trainees as well as fifth
year retesting. WARNING... this file is 11.20 MB in size!

Operations Policy Manual (M16798.3E) describes policies established by the
U.S. Coast Guard governing the Auxiliary's activities on the water.
WARNING... this file is 13.39MB in size!
- Coast
Guard Search and Rescue Addendum (M16130.2D) a rather self-explanatory
reference manual that is 11MB in size and will take a while to download.
